Polyether Imide is an amber colour thermoplastic which has a glass transition of 217C. It has outstanding strength and thermal stability which makes it ideal for creating structural parts. PEI has exceptional dimensional stability even at elevated temperatures.
It is chemically resistant to alcohol, automotive fluids, aqueous solutions and fully hydrogenated hydrocarbons. Because it has inherent flame resistance with low smoke emission, it makes PEI filament an ideal candidate for aerospace, automotive and electronic applications. It is an excellent alternative to steel and aluminium in some applications because of its high strength and lightweight properties.
Examples of applications printed from PEI include sensors, shafts, levers, connectors, cable ducts, latches, door handles, hard disk drive internals, fuel cell components among many others.
